Julie Cardia JULIE CARDIA (Rose) feels so blessed to be playing this iconic role with ABT this season! Julie toured nationally with Annie as Lily St. Regis and enjoyed a limited Broadway run at Madison Square Garden starring Kathy Lee Gifford. Other tours include: The Wizard of Oz (Pittsburg CLO, Kansas City Starlight, TOTS) and A Christmas Carol. Regional credits: Celebrate Broadway (Kennedy Center), Babes in Arms (Auditorium Theatre, starring George Wendt), Guys & Dolls (Adelaide, Stages St. Louis) Annie...Gun (Annie Oakley, Fireside Theatre), Shout! (Ogunquit Playhouse), Titanic (Alice Beane, Virginia Musical Theatre), Hair (TUTS), Damn Yankees (Gloria Thorpe, Carousel Theatre), It’s a Wonderful Life (Westchester Broadway), Mame, Showboat, My Fair Lady, The Music Man (Sacramento Music Circus), No No Nanette (Lucille, Merry-Go-Round). Julie and twin sister Janna have co-written their own shows, most notably the MAC Award-nominated Womb for Two, which has been produced at the Fulton Opera House, The Forestburgh Playhouse and the Laurie Beachman Theatre in NYC. Julie is a proud graduate of Millikin University and a proud member of Actors’ Equity. Love to Mickey.
Morgan Rudolph MORGAN RUDOLPH (Louise) is a resident artist at ABT and has been keeping busy both onstage and behind the scenes. Morgan has been seen on the ABT stage in: A Christmas Carol (Sally), Anything Goes (Purity), Bye Bye Birdie (Gloria Rasputin), Guys & Dolls (Mimi), Annie Get Your Gun, and Cabaret (Helge). She is an alumna of Western Kentucky University and holds a BFA in Performing Arts with a Concentration in Dance. This is the role of a lifetime for Morgan, and she has many people to thank: first, to Rick for giving her the courage and the body to do burlesque; to her ABT family – Cass, Kurtis, Kiel, Joe and James – for this incredible opportunity and for believing in her talent; to her family whom she loves dearly and misses daily, she send a big old “yee-haw of love.” She dedicates this performance to her mom, Susan, who worked extra jobs so she could take dance classes. “Without your unending guidance, love and support, I would never have had the courage to pack up my things and travel the country like a gypsy to follow my heart and chase my dreams. I love you!”
D. Scott Withers D. SCOTT WITHERS (Herbie) is thrilled to return to the Arizona Broadway Theatre stage where he appeared as Mr. Mac-Afee in Bye Bye Birdie and directed their TYA production of The Selfish Giant. Scott is in his 20th season as a company member with Childsplay. Recent Childsplay credits: directing Androcles and the Lion and Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible...Day and appearances in Junie B. Jones, Honus and Me and A Tale of Two Cities. Other acting credits: Company, Into the Woods (ariZoni Award) and Forum for Phoenix Theatre; A Christmas Carol for Actors Theatre; Lost and Foundling for Geva; The Jungle Book for Fulton Opera House; and A Year With Frog and Toad for Seattle Children’s Theatre. Last season, Scott served as Artistic Director for Greasepaint Youtheatre helming their productions of Rent - School Edition (ariZoni) and Pippin (National Youth Theatre Award, ariZoni). Scott holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from ASU and is originally from Idaho.
Brooke Robyn Dairman BROOKE ROBYN DAIRMAN (June) is thrilled to be returning to ABT! She has appeared off-Broadway and with several NYC dance companies, traveled the country with the national tour of Peter Pan (Tiger Lily, Peter u/s), and performed regionally in Grease (Rizzo), High School Musical, Curtains, Meet Me in St. Louis, and both Cabaret (Fritzie) and Annie Get Your Gun (Winnie Tate) at ABT. BA: University of Pennsylvania, Masters: Columbia University. Michael Dunn MICHAEL DUNN (Tulsa) is originally from Poughkeepsie, NY, and is a recent graduate from Wagner College’s musical theatre program. He is honored to be making his ABT debut with Gypsy and will be seen in ABT’s upcoming production of Cats as Munkustrap. He continues to choreograph musicals for JPAC ranging from Into The Woods to Footloose. Selected Wagner credits: Annie Get Your Gun (Tommy Keeler), 42nd Street, Grand Hotel, Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof, Footloose and On The Town. Selected regional credits: The Full Monty (Malcolm), High School Musical 2 (Chad), The Pajama Game (Charlie). Other favorite credits include Into the Woods (Jack), Crazy for You (Bobby), You Can’t Take it with You (Tony) and The Secret Garden (Dickon).
Laura Berger LAURA BERGER (Tessie Tura) is delighted to return to the ABT stage, having previously appeared in Anything Goes (Reporter, Reno u/s) and The Taffetas (Kaye). A life-long student of the arts, Laura is a Phoenix native and has been performing Valley-wide since childhood. Her favorite credits include The Music Man (Marian), The Who’s Tommy (Acid Queen), You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown (Lucy), Reefer Madness (Mae), Joseph...Dream Coat (Narrator), and Into The Woods (Cinderella). When not on stage, Laura successfully runs her own business teaching women how to enrich their lives (www.marykay.com/lauraberger). Morgan Springer MORGAN SPRINGER (Mazeppa) is thrilled to be return to ABT after making her ABT debut in Bye Bye Birdie last summer! Morgan received her BFA from Carnegie Mellon University, where she appeared as The Old Lady in Candide, Judy Turner in A Chorus Line, and Lady Billows in Benjamin Britten’s opera, Albert Herring. After graduation, she toured Colorado with A Night of Comden and Green. She most recently appeared off-Broadway in a workshop/reading of the new musical, Awakening with Julia Murney and Lisa Howard. Morgan would love to thank the wonderful ABT family for giving her this fantastic opportunity. Special thanks to Mom for her undying support.
Jill Tieskoetter JILL TIESKOETTER (Electra) has appeared at ABT in A Christmas Carol (Mrs. Cratchit), Annie Get Your Gun (Dolly Tate), Cabaret (Fräulein Kost), Jekyll & Hyde (Nellie), Fiddler on the Roof (Shaindel), and South Pacific (Nurse Pamela Whitmore). Jill spent the last four summers performing at Cabin Nite Dinner Theatre in Denali Park, Alaska. She is a 2002 graduate of Viterbo University in LaCrosse, WI, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre. Brad Rupp BRAD RUPP (Uncle Jocko/Weber/Mr. Goldstone/Phil) currently resides in New York City, but is ecstatic to be back home in Arizona and at ABT. In 2007, Brad graduated from the ASU School of Music. Gypsy marks his sixth mainstage production here at ABT, following performances in Season One’s premiere, Anything Goes, as well as South Pacific, Fiddler on the Roof (Constable/Nachum), Jekyll and Hyde (General Glossop), and The Music Man (Charlie Cowell). Brad has also been active with ABT’s outreach troupe, Bits & Pieces, and as a teacher/director for ABT’s Academy for Young Performers. In the summer of 2008, he had the honor of co-directing and performing in ABT’s After Dark premiere, March of the Falsettos (Mendel). Other local credits include: Assassins (Booth), Parade (Hugh Dorsey), The Who’s Tommy (Cousin Kevin), Bat Boy (Rick/Lorraine), City of Angels (Stone), and Forever Plaid (Smudge-ariZoni nomination). Great big thanks to his ABT family for having him back and to his beeb, Amanda.
Wes Martin WES MARTIN (Pop/Kringelein/Cigar) is privileged to be making his fifth apperance with ABT in this outstanding production of Gypsy! He has previously appeared in ABT productions of Man of La Mancha, H2$, Forum, and Guys and Dolls. Wes is a veteran of nearly 25 years of theatre in AZ and has performed with Arizona Theatre Company, Phoenix Theatre, and many others. Wes is also the founder and Executive Producer for The Shakespeare Theatre and Off Center Productions, and has produced and directed many shows with them, as well as with Theater Works in Peoria.
Barrette Janney BARRETTE JANNEY (Baby June) is thrilled to be making her Arizona Broadway Theatre debut. She is a 6th grader at Christ Lutheran School where she is a principal’s list student. Recent credits include: Oliver (Urchin/Fagin girl) and Snoopy!!! (Truffles) at Greasepaint; the Lifetime movie Maneaters; and Annie at Desert Stages. Barrette would like to thank D. Scott Withers and Alan J. Plado for recommending her for this production, Kelly James for her guidance, Kurtis, Kiel, Alan, and Cassandra for giving her this amazing opportunity, and her parents for their love and support.
Matthew Alexander MATTHEW ALEXANDER (Yonkers) is excited to be returning to the ABT stage. He was seen earlier in the season as a tap dancing sailor in Anything Goes. Recent credits: Bye Bye Birdie (National Tour), The Drowsy Chaperone (Gateway Playhouse). Favorite credits: Dames at Sea (Dick), Contact, City of Angels, On the Town, Jekyll and Hyde. Other credits include dancing in Jubilee at Bally’s Hotel in Las Vegas and singing aboard Norwegian Cruise Lines. He is an Ohio native and Point Park University BFA Musical Theatre graduate. Nick Lorenzini

NICK LORENZINI (Angie) is making his ABT debut and is overjoyed to perform in his home state for The Holidays! Recent graduate from AMDA LA, he loves living and working in weather below 120 degrees in Los Angeles. John Wagner JOHN WAGNER (L.A.) is thrilled to be returning to the ABT stage after just performing as John/Sailor in Anything Goes and in the ensemble of A Christmas Carol. John recently graduated from the Shenandoah Conservatory at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA, with his BFA in Musical Theatre. He has also spent the past four summers singing and dancing at Playland Amusement Park in Rye, NY. His favorite credits include: Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (The Rug), Joseph….Dreamcoat (Benjamin), 42nd Street (Ensemble), and Peter Pan (John). Lauren Gasic LAUREN GASIC (Agnes) is thrilled to be playing the role of Agnes in Arizona Broadway Theatre’s Gypsy. Having recently transferred from the University of Arizona, she is now continuing her education at ASU as a Music Theatre major. Other show credits include: Fame (Mabel), Li’l Abner (Daisy Mae), Bare (Ensemble, Choreographer), Turn of the Screw (Flora) and Sweeney Todd (Ensemble). She would like to thank her family and friends for all their love and support, as well as her voice teacher, Judy May. Enjoy the show!
Michelle Chin MICHELLE CHIN (Marjorie May) is absolutely thrilled to be making her ABT debut in Gypsy! She is a sophomore at ASU, studying with David Britton and working toward a BM degree in Music Theatre Performance. Michelle has performed in over 50 productions around the Valley with theatres such as Theatre League, Southwest Shakespeare Company, Broadway Palm West, Mesa Encore Theatre, Fountain Hills Theatre and Nearly Naked Theatre. Favorite roles include Theatrescape’s Eleemosynary (Echo, 2004 Tribune Spotlight Award “Best Young Actress”) and Stray Cat Theatre’s Everything Will Be Different (Heather). Michelle is also a three-time Musical Theatre N.A.T.S. winner and a seasoned percussionist. She would like to thank ABT for this wonderful opportunity and her friends and family for being so amazingly supportive!
Leana Courtney LÉANA COURTNEY (Dolores) is thrilled to be back on the ABT stage for her third show. She appeared as Martha Cratchit in A Christmas Carol (2008) and in the ensemble of The Music Man. She is a freshman at Arizona State University majoring in Musical Theatre. Other musical theater credits include: Sally Durant Plummer in Follies, Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors, Little Sally in Urinetown, the Musical!, and Cinderella in Into the Woods. Léana studies piano and has found a new love for songwriting. Thank you to everyone at the Arizona Broadway Theatre for giving me this wonderful opportunity. My love to the amazing and talented cast. To my friends and family: thank you for always believing in me; to Adam Berger, my mentor and teacher. This performance is dedicated to my Grandfather, Charles H. Courtney, who supported my dream and taught me to always “capture the moment.”
Amanda Rosas

AMANDA ROSAS (Baby Louise) makes her ABT mainstage debut in Gypsy. Previously at ABT, Amanda performed in the Academy for Young Performers’ production of Rent: School Edition (Homeless/Life Support). She is an eighth grader at the Arizona Conservatory for Arts and Academics, and is a Phoenix native. Her first stage experience was at the age of 5 when she performed in a small school show. At ACAA, Amanda has appeared in Kamp Kaos (Bodyguard 1/ Camper) and Voice and Drama Night (Narrator/Ensemble). She was also in a production of Rumpelstiltskin (Wizard 6) for Missoula Children’s Theatre. Amanda enjoys reading, writing, drawing, dancing and having fun with friends. She would like to thank everyone who has helped and supported her, and ABT for giving her this great opportunity to perform.

Keegan Carlson

KEEGAN CARLSON (Tap Dancer) is thrilled to be back on the ABT stage after appearing in A Christmas Carol: The Musical as Peter Cratchit/Worker/Guest at Mr. Fezziwig’s Christmas Ball this year, and as a Toy Soldier last year. A very involved 8th grader at Foothills Elementary, Keegan is part of the Peoria Arts Institute, National Junior Honor Society, and Student Council. Keegan’s first stage appearance was at age 3 when he was cast as the boy who came to life, John Thomas, in Curious Savage, and he fell in love with performing. He has been a member of the Phoenix Boys Choir for the past six years, and performed with them on tour in Japan. Keegan would like to thank his mom, dad and brother, along with his grandparents and everyone who gives him their support and encouragement, now and in the future!

Simon Faddoul

SIMON FADDOUL (Boy Scout singer) has been dancing with Magic Motion Dance since he was five years old. Currently in the Drama Club at Desert Mirage Elementary School, Simon performed the role of Egor in The Gingerbread Girl. He also sings in his school and church choirs. Simon has performed in a variety of talent shows since he was in the first grade, so he is no stranger to the stage! He has had the opportunity to experience the art of theatre through the summer camp program at Arizona Broadway Theatre, and performed as Wild Boar Willy in Robinson Crusoe, Super in Extra Ordinary, and as Dead Eye in Pirates: The Musical.

Patrick Rooney PATRICK ROONEY (Arnold/Rich Boy) is pleased to be appearing on the ABT stage for the second time. He was one of the River City Youth in The Music Man with his mom and sister. Patrick has also been a member of numerous Academy for Young Performers casts here at ABT. Admittedly, the stage is NOT his first love; it is slightly overshadowed by Legos and soccer. Patrick is a fourth grader at Foothills Elementary where he enjoys cross-country running and stirring up trouble for Mrs. Nelson, his teacher.
