Why ABT
Arizona Broadway Theatre is embarking on its Fifth Season in Greater Phoenix's rapidly expanding Northwest Valley. All of ABT's productions are conceived, built and performed on-site in its stage-of-the-art facility. Great care and attention to detail goes into the construction of all sets and costumes by dedicated professionals and eager interns. In its first four seasons alone, ABT has hired hundreds of actors carefully selected from local and national auditions to work with resident and guest directors and designers. All of the preparations, rehearsals, and talent culminate in attention-getting and award-winning productions.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit theatre, ABT relies on the generosity of contributors to help provide our community with top-rate entertainment and to foster the appreciation of the arts in our youth. Donations support ABT's mission, together with its educational, outreach, and children's programs. Included in these are the Academy for Young Performers and the Theatre for Young Audiences.
The mission of the Academy is to instill and to inspire young people to develop an appreciation for the arts through the education and exploration of theatre skills. Sessions are offered for children aged 7 -18 each spring break, in June and July, and after school on Monday afternoons every fall and winter.
The Theatre for Young Audiences is a seasonal program in which professional actors perform for children. Launched in July 2008 with a highly successful production of The Wizard of Oz, the Theatre for Young Audiences will be presenting several productions in the coming year, including Alice in Wonderland, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and The Last of the Dragons.
Art is a vital element in the development of the whole individual. We are proud to reach today's youth through musical theatre, which encompasses art, dance, music, drama, and design.
Take the opportunity now to make a contribution. Your generosity makes a difference in the lives of today's youth by providing them with programs that build their confidence, self-awareness, social and personal development, and memory.
